Let us know
We are here to help! - contact the Events Team and tell us what you are up to. We can provide you with support and useful materials.
Get permission
Is your event in a public place? If so, you will need permission from your local council. Check if you need to carry out a risk assessment and whether you need an entertainment license.
Secure sponsorship
if you need items to auction or raffle prizes, see if local businesses or shops will donate items or even sponsor your event..
Get noticed
let everyone know the date of your event asap. Fill in the details of your event on the poster enclosed in the ‘get active’ pack (click on downloads section to download or register for your pack) and find somewhere prominent to display it.
Get publicity
tell the local press what you’re up to. Contact your local paper or radio station and tell them what you’re doing and how others can get involved.
Connect
show your passion for whales and dolphins; people will give up their time and show their support if they feel connected to our cause.
Say thank you
thank everyone who gets involved (including the press). Make sure they know that they have helped to make a difference for whales and dolphins.
