Stimulate your senses, test your abilities and help whales and dolphins
Overseas challenges are the perfect opportunity to see some of the most stunning places in the world and gain a lasting sense of achievement. Not only will you be testing yourself physically and mentally but you will also be helping to fund WDCS’s work.
We have partnered with Charity Challenge who offer more than 100 treks, bike rides, mountain climbs, horse riding and white water rafting challenges throughout the world. Now you can visit new countries, experience different cultures, improve your fitness and realise your dreams whilst raising vital funds for WDCS.
The challenges take place in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and the Americas and they cover three different difficulty levels, ensuring there really is something for everyone. They cover 3 days over a long weekend, to three weeks in duration.
You can trek on the Great Wall of China, hike the Inca Trail in Peru, or climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can cycle from Havana to Trinidad, from Saigon to Angkor Watt in Cambodia or from the Andes to the Amazon in Peru.
So if you’re looking for an exciting way to spend your next holiday, a way to celebrate a big birthday, or mark an anniversary, why not do it and help WDCS at the same time.

Rachel Long trekked to the home of the Dalai Lama in March, we asked her to sum up her experience:
“Challenging, fulfilling, eye-opening - a great goal to have accomplished..."
Rachel says’ “I decided to do this challenge for WDCS because I have been passionate about whales and dolphins since I was a child. To me they stand for peace and freedom – and I will do whatever I can to help them keep that. Taking a trip to see Orcas in the wild just off the Vancouver Islands a couple of years back re-enforced my love for these animals and what they stand for.
As preparation for my trek I completed several long distance walks, as well as a weeks worth of walking in the Swiss Alps. One of my walks was a sponsored 21km route from whichI raised an additional £180.00 for my trip. As it is was more difficult to train in the winter, I went to the gym on a regular basis to keep up my cardio and walked to and from work everyday.”
Challenge yourself to make a difference.
If you love the idea of a challenge but are unable to undertake one for us, you could still help us by advertising these challenges in your local area to encourage others to fundraise for us. If you would be happy to put up A4 posters in your work place, local church, community centre, shops or otherwise please let us know. We rely on the assistance of our supporters to promote these challenges so please give it some thought.
